MIAMI – Student-athletes at FIU once again excelled in the classroom during the most recent Fall Semester, as the athletic department posted a 3.39 GPA during the academic cycle.
FIU student-athletes have now posted 16-straight semesters with a department GPA of 3.0 or better.
"The combination of academic and athletic success is always the goal within FIU Athletics," Director of Athletics Scott Carr said. "Once again, I am extremely proud of our student-athletes, coaches and staff who ensure we continue to elevate all areas of the athletic experience at FIU. Paws Up!"
FIU had 15 sport programs post above a 3.0 GPA, while an impressive four programs exceeded a 3.5 GPA.
The women's swimming and diving program posted the highest GPA on campus, earning a 3.70 for the fall.
The baseball team earned a 3.43 to post the highest male GPA on campus.
Overall, 34 student-athletes earned a perfect 4.0 for the 2022 Fall term, while 162 were named to the Dean's List.
In addition to the GPA results, FIU had 16 student-athletes earn their bachelor's degree this past December.
