Miami, Fla - FIU graduate student Lucie Pokorna, and junior Lisa Luini earned the title of Conference-USA's Co-Pair of the Month for October. They share this honor with the FAU duo of Ashleigh Adams and Julie Honzovicova.

Pokorna, recognized as a former all-conference performer, and Luini, a former 2022 C-USA all-conference freshman team honoree, achieved a 5-1 record at the East Coast Qualifier hosted by p1440. Their performance secured them first place at the event and earned them a bid to participate in the AVCA Fall Collegiate Beach Championships.

The duo started the qualifier with an initial three-set loss to Stetson, followed by four consecutive winning sets against Tampa, LSU, Stetson, and Florida State. The Conference Pair of the Month faced off against their Panther teammates, Giada Bianchi and Alicia Pratesi, ultimately triumphing in a straight-set victory. 

This win secured their spot in the AVCA Fall Collegiate Beach Championships, where they went on to claim the top spot in the consolation bracket with a victory over South Carolina, securing 33rd place in the national rankings.
