MIAMI (March 15, 2024) - The FIU track and field program opened the outdoor season Friday at the Hurricane Invitational at Cobb Stadium in Coral Gables.
Junior
Michaelle Valentin earned the victory in the hammer throw with a mark of 60.80 on her fifth attempt, defeating a talented field of 18 athletes. Valentin also placed third in the discus.
RESULTS
In the men's discus, junior
Devin Mannings took second place with a throw of 52.33m on his second attempt.
The Panthers saw success in the pole vault, with Nicole Rotger and Luciana Gomez-Iriondo sharing the fourth spot with vaults of 3.95m.
