MIAMI — FIU softball's Kally Meredith earned the distinction of being named to D1Softball's Preseason Mid-Major D100 list, of which recognizes the top 100 mid-major collegiate softball players. 

Meredith, a two-time All-Conference USA (CUSA) Second Team performer, is one of just eight players from CUSA to appear on D1Softball's Top 100 list. She was ranked 65th in the D100 rankings, one of just three outfielders from CUSA to make the top-100. 

An outfielder from Kaukauna, Wis., Meredith set the program record for most stolen bases in a season (40) during her sophomore campaign. Her 40 stolen bases were seventh-best nationally and her stolen base percentage (93.0) ranked 12th-best in the country. Meredith led FIU with her .352 batting average and her 63 hits, of which were the fourth-most in CUSA.

Additionally, Meredith has been recognized as one of the top defensive outfielders in the nation, patrolling centerfield for the Panthers. Fresh off its best season since 2018, FIU opens its 2026 season on Feb. 5 at home against Texas A&M-Corpus Christi, as part of the annual Felsberg Invitational.
