FIU Athletics

As a Junior (2012-13): Represented FIU in three events at the 2013 Sun Belt Conference Championships…Tallied a 10th place finish in the 200 butterfly at the SBC Championships, earning a mark of 2:05.04…Also earned a 14th place finish in the 100 butterfly and a 15th place finish in the 100 breaststroke…Earned a victory in the 200 butterfly vs. UNF (11/3) with a time of 2:08.72.

As a Sophomore (2011-12): Holds the fifth-best time at FIU in the 100 fly (58.13)… Won second in the 100 fly (1:01.49) against Campbell and North Florida (10/29)… Finished in second place against FAU and Florida Southern (11/5) in the 200 fly (2:07.66)… Recorded a time of 2:11.26 in the 200 fly against Nova Southeastern and IRSC (11/12) and claimed fourth; also swam in the 100 fly and earned third place with a time of 1:00.00… Won the 200 fly event with a time of 2:10.15 during the UALR Christmas Invitational (12/1).

As a Freshman (2010-11): Clocked the third-best time on the team in the 50 breast (33.73) against New Orleans... Fourth-best on the team in the 50 fly with a 28.31 at the FIU Invitational... Third-best on the team in the 100 fly (1:00.05 against Florida Atlantic/Nova)... Top time on the team in the 200 fly with a 2:07.11 at the Miami Ohio Invitational... Third on the team in the 400 IM with a 4:49.16 at the Miami Ohio Invite... Teamed with Yesica Rojas, Erin Pavlick and Kayla Derr for a 4:05.41 in the 400 medley relay against Rice. It is the second best time on the team in the event.

Prior to FIU: Was Team MVP in her junior year at Doral Academy... Two-time qualifier for the state championships.

Personal: Born January 16, 1992... Daughter of Alonso Moreno and Lucero Betancourt... Twin sister Vanessa was on the FIU Swimming and Diving team... Majoring in political science.
