2016-17 (Junior): Appeared in 11 meets on the year... Placed in the top-five in high jump on eight occasions, including three third-place finishes at the Herd Invite (1/27), and at the GVSU preliminary (2/10) and final (2/11) round... During the GVSU final, Samuels matched his indoor personal-best in the high jump (2.00m)... At the Indoor Conference USA Championships (2/18), he finished eighth in the high jump with a 1.99m mark... During the outdoor season, Samuels jumped his personal best at the Miami Alumni Invite (4/7) in the high jump (2.00m) where he finished fourth... At the Outdoor C-USA Championships (5/11), he finished 10th in the high jump with a 1.97m mark.
