Prior to FIU: One of the top all-around athletes as a senior in Miami-Dade county in 2005, earning all-county recognition in both football and baseball...in baseball, earned second-team honors as a sophomore, as a junior and first team recognition as a senior...as a senior, he hit .400 with five home runs and 33 RBI...as a junior, played on the Class 3A state championship team, hitting .350 with 25 runs scored and 30 RBI...as a sophomore, played at Belen Jesuit with FIU teammate Danny Marquez, hit .415 with eight roundtrippers and 45 RBI to earn third-team all-state accolades.

Personal: Born November 25, 1986...son of Joseph and Caridad Rey...sports management major...selected FIU after receiving consideration from Miami, LSU, North Carolina State and Clemson.
