Prior to FIU: played for Josh Corr at Charlotte High School...Pitcher of the Year in 2007...Defensive player of the year in 2008...Tommy Murphy Leadership Award in 2009... batted .378 with four homeruns in his senior season... posted a 3-1 record with a 2.33 ERA and 22 strikeouts in 21 innings in '09... named to the All-Area team in '07, '08 and '09.

Personal: Born January 5, 1991...son of Gregg and Julianne Vitale... has two younger siblings, Mindy and Tyler...Sports Management Major with aspirations of becoming a sports agent or a baseball coach...chose FIU after receiving interest from Miami, Florida State, and Stetson.
