Prior to FIU: Prior to FIU: Four-time swim team MVP at Northeast Christian Academy...set state records in 100-meter breaststroke and 200 IM...took first place at states in 100-meter breaststroke (2001-03) and 200 IM (2002-03)...three-time state qualifier in track and played softball for three years.

Personal: Born October 30, 1984 in Barrhead, Alberta...recipient of FIU Presidential academic scholarship...class valedictorian and Timothy Award recipient (all-around student-athlete) in 2003...has two brothers, Paul (16) and Benjamin (13)...daughter of Gordon and Jo-Ann Kornfeld...engineering major.
