Fabiola Declet joined the coaching staff as a Graduate Assistant after a standout collegiate career at Florida International University (FIU), where she competed as a multi-event athlete in the pentathlon and heptathlon. A native of Puerto Rico, Declet brings both international experience and a strong background in hurdles, jumps, and combined events to the program.
During her time at FIU, Declet established herself as one of the top multis competitors in Conference USA. She posted career bests of 5,286 points in the heptathlon and 3,684 points in the pentathlon, while also excelling individually with marks of 13.96 in the 100m hurdles and 6.04m in the long jump. Declet consistently scored for the Panthers at the Conference USA Championships, including top-five finishes in both the pentathlon and heptathlon. She also earned event victories in the long jump and set multiple personal bests across sprint, jump, and throwing events.
Beyond her collegiate career, Declet became a Puerto Rico National Champion, further solidifying her place as one of the island’s most versatile and accomplished track and field athletes.
As a coach, Declet draws from her experience as both a Division I student-athlete and a national champion to mentor the next generation. Her focus is on technical development in hurdles and jumps, event-specific preparation for multis, and building athlete confidence through discipline and resilience.
Declet is passionate about representing Puerto Rico and inspiring young athletes to pursue excellence both on and off the track.
