As a Junior: Set new personal bests in the 1500-meter at the Conference USA Championships (5:08.00) and the mile at the Tar Heel Opener (5:36.68)... Took third place in the 5000-meter race (20:08.29) at the 3rd Annual South Florida Multi-cultural Games

As a Sophomore: Ran in five races, lowering her personal best to 19:31.1

As a Freshman: Participated in six races and had a personal best of 20:26 at the Sun Belt Conference Country Championships 5k

Prior to FIU: Lettered in track all four years while at Our Lady of Lourdes Academy… Was awarded rookie of the year honors in 2008 and earned the coach’s award as a junior in 2011… She helped to contribute to four-consecutive district and regional championships (2008-2011), as well as earned state runner-up recognition in 2007 and 2010… All-Dade third team (2009). Honorable mention (2010). Personal bests: 1600m (5:29), 3200m (12:08), 5000m (19:11), 800m (5:27).

Personal: Born June 4, 1993… Daughter of Enrique Jr. and Susana Ventura… Has two siblings, Christopher and Nicolas… Majoring in biology and wants to go to dental school… enjoys spending time with friends and hanging outside
