2008 Indoors: Won the Sun Belt title in the long jump with an NCAA Provisional mark of 6.23 meters, a distance that ranked 23rd nationally and tops in the conference... Also posted top-five long jump finishes with 6.08 meter jumps at the Tom Jones Memorial Invitational and the Virginia Tech Last Chance... Had a pair of top-10 finishes in the triple jump, led by a fourth place (among collegians) 11.76 meter leap at the LSU Purple Tiger Invitational... Ran once in the 200 meters, coming in 21st at the Sun Belt meet with a 26.86.
2006 Outdoors: Focusing on the long jump, qualified for the NCAA East Regional Championships with a season-best 19-foot, 8¼-inch performance at the Golden Knights Twilight Invitational to place tops among collegians.
2006 Indoors: Earned all-conference honors and provisionally qualified for the NCAA Championships with a season- and personal-best long jump of 20 feet, 3½ inches to finish runner up at the Sun Belt Championships... Recorded three additional top-five finishes in the event, never finishing lower... Also competed in the triple jump, with a season-best 38-foot, 4-inch performance at the SBC Championships.
At Essex County College: 2005 National Junior College Athletic Association indoor long jump champion, helping team to a runner-up finish... Turned in a season-best 19-foot, 4¾-inch long jump at the Seton Hall Games earlier that season... At the 2005 NJCAA Outdoor Championships, placed fourth in the long jump with a leap of 19 feet, 6¾ inches and was seventh in the triple jump with a 36-foot, 9-inch performance... Scored for her team in both events to help lead them to a fourth-place finish... In 2004, team was national runner up both indoors and out.
Prep: Competed in track & field at Campus Magnet, winning the PSAL Queens Boro Championships in 2000... At that meet, claimed titles in both the long and triple jumps... Placed third at states and at cities in the long jump.
Personal: Born March 19, 1983, in New York City... Parents are Franklin Walker and Pauline Brown... Has two siblings, Sophia and Vonette... Also recruited by Ole Miss, Alabama and East Carolina... Off the track, enjoys cooking and sewing... A liberal arts major.
