2009 Outdoors: Finished fourth in 400 meter hurdles (54.90) at the Sun Belt Championships Indoors: Member of the 4x400 meter relay team that finished third (3:20.28) at the Sun Belt Championships, earning All-Sun Belt distinction.
2007 Outdoors: FIU’s second-fastest performer in the 400 meters with a 12th place 48.92 at the Sun Belt Championships... At the Miami Elite Invitational, ran the third leg of FIU’s fourth-place (among collegians) 4x100 relay (41.65 seconds), and the lead leg of the fifth-place 4x400 relay team which ran 3:17.35... Ran a season-best 22.12 in the 200, good for 11th among collegians at the Disney Invitational... Was the anchor led in FIU’s ninth-place 4x400 relay at the Sun Belt meet, finishing just out of scoring range.
2007 Indoors: Claimed All-Sun Belt honors by running the second leg of FIU’s third-place DMR squad at the conference championships, helping the team cross the line in 10:17.15... Also scored at the SBC meet in the 4x400 relay, crossing the line in 3:21.52 as the anchor leg in a fifth-place finish, and the 400 meters when his season-best 49.71 was good for eighth place... Ran the anchor leg in the team’s top 4x400 relay of the season, a 3:16.67 at the Husky Classic... Ran the 200 on one occasion, placing sixth among collegians at the Florida Intercollegiate in 23.00 seconds.
2006 Outdoors: Team’s second-fastest performer in the 800 meters... Recorded a season- and personal-best time of 1:57.27 at the Hurricane Invitational... Finished fifth among collegians in the 800 at the Golden Knights Twilight.
2006 Indoors: Did not compete.
Prep: A tri-sport athlete competing in track and field for four years and football and cross country for two years apiece... As a senior, won the district title in the 400 meters in 51.70 seconds and ran the third leg on the runner-up 4x400-meter relay that clocked in at 3:29.67... Earned Second Team All-Dade honors in the 4x4 as a junior... Earned Most Improved honors and Scholar-Athlete recognition.
Personal: Born November 5, 1986... Son of Juan Pujol... Has two brothers, Johnny (25) and David (19)... Nickname is Horse... Named to the Sun Belt Conference Academic Honor Roll in 2005-06, 2006-07 and to the FIU Dean’s List in the fall of 2005... Off the track, enjoys playing baseball... Has not selected a major, but has aspirations of becoming a fireman.
