Biography
Jeffers swam the anchor leg of the school-record 800 free relay at the 2007 Sun Belt Championships...is the leading returner in the 50 and 100 free...is expected to contribute greatly in the relay events.
2007-08: Competed in the 50, 100 and 200 freestyle, the 200, 400 and 500 freestyle relays, and the 200 and 40 medley relays... Recorded one of the team’s top-10 finishes in the 50 freestyle... Two of her performances in the 100 freestyle ranked among the team’s top-10 for the season.
2006-07: Competed in the 50-, 100-, 200- and 500-yard freestyle and the 100-yard backstroke...cut her 100 free time down three seconds during the season...At Sun Belt Championships (2/15-17/07): Turned in season-best performances in the 50 (25.79) and 200 free (2:00.95)...swam the anchor leg on the sixth-place conference championship 200 free relay team (1:40.91)...also anchored the sixth-place 800 free relay to a school-record 7:53.39...During the season: Swam the third leg of the winning 200 free relay against St. Leo (1:48.28)...posted season bests in the 100 free (55.63), 500 free (5:36.00) and 100 backstroke (1:07.59) at the Indiana Invitational.
Prior to FIU: A three-year varsity letter winner and captain of the Bucholz swim team...helped lead the Bobcats to the Class 3A State Championship in 2005 and a runner-up finish in 2004.
Personal: Born Oct. 1, 1987...daughter of Thomas and Frances Jeffers...has a younger brother, Eric...majoring in human resources management.
