2007-08: Participated in the 50, 100, 200, 500, 1000 and 1650 freestyle, 100 and 200 butterfly, 200, 400 and 800 freestyle relays, 400 medley relay and 200 butterfly relay... Finished third in meets against FAU (5:41.16) and St. Leo (5:36.21) swimming the 500 freestyle... Was part of a second place finish in the 200 freestyle relay (1:48.46) against the University of Miami (10/12/07).

Prior to FIU: Named team MVP her freshman year at South Plantation High School..personal bests include 5:21 in the 500 free, 1:04 in the 100 fly and 2:21 in the 200 IM...swam for all four years of high school.

Personal: Born March 6, 1989 in Caracas, Venezuela...daughter of Miguel and Elizabeth Dorante...has an older brother (Miguel) and younger sister (Valentina)...early childhood education major.
