Biography

2004-05 (Junior): Seventeen spring singles wins tied for best on the team and her overall 21 victories was the team high...won seven-of-nine matches played at the No. 4 position, was 7-1 at No. 5 and a perfect 3-0 at No. 6...after splitting her first six singles decisions, won 14 straight, including a 6-1, 6-3 victory over USF’s No. 86-ranked Liz Cruz...following that win, named as the Sun Belt Conference’s Player of the Week...recorded a 14-8 dual doubles mark, going 12-6 with partner Egle Petrauskaite...that tandem went 10-4 at No. 2 doubles and ended the year ranked No. 13 in the South Region of Division I...ended the year with an 8-3 win over the University of Florida’s Whitney Benik and Alex Liles in the second round of the NCAA Championships, the only match won by FIU on the day...took a pair of doubles decisions during the Sun Belt Conference Championships with wins over opponents from No. 46 Denver and No. 26 South Alabama...the duo also ended the year winning eight-straight doubles matches and were ranked as high as No. 31 in the nation at the beginning of the spring season...despite dropping out of the national rankings late in the season, won their final four matches?two in the Sun Belt Championships and two at the NCAA Championships.

2003-04 (Sophomore): Led the team with 16 wins and her .800 winning percentage was tops on the squad...went 8-1 at No. 5 singles and 7-1 at No. 4...named Sun Belt Conference Player of the Week on April 14--the third Golden Panther to capture the honor that season...won 11 singles matches in a row from March 5-April 11 and took two-of-three matches played in the Conference Championships, including a 6-3, 6-1 victory over Arkansas-Little Rock's Outi Jarvinen in the third-place match...began the season as doubles partner to Courtney Jonson before illness curtailed Jonson's campaign...moved on with Paula Zabala for a 12-7 spring doubles record, winning 11 times as the regular No. 2 team...beat Florida A&M's Charlene Kambarani and Anita Abad for a victory at No. 1...helped secure the doubles point with a win versus No. 35 Baylor.

2002-03 (Freshman): Played in positions one through four, with her most success coming at No. 3...helped clinch a victory against UCF with a 6-3, 2-6, 6-1 win over Kristina Lohmos...also picked up a match win in the opening round of the Sun Belt Conference Tournament against Louisiana-Lafayette...teamed with several doubles partners over the course of the spring, and with Courtney Jonson, won all four matches played out of the No. 2 position, three of those coming in the league championships...also partnered with Christine Suard for a 4-5 doubles mark.

Prior to FIU: Successfully competed in the former Yugoslavia, winning state championships at ages under-12, 14 and 16...finished as tournament runner-up at age 18...won the International Tennis Federation under-18 tournament in Yugoslavia at the age of 14...also reached the finals of a European Tennis Association tournament played in Paris.

Personal: Finance/International Business major... member of the 2004-05 Sun Belt Conference Academic Honor Roll...daughter of Aleksandar and Mirjana Jovanovic.
