@FIUFootball in the Community: Perrine Elementary

MIAMI (Feb. 25, 2016) – Involvement in the community is extremely important to the FIU football program and on Wednesday, the Panthers turned their focus to Perrine Elementary in Palmetto Bay, Fla.

Tyree Johnson, Fermin Silva, Isaiah Hill, Anthony Jones, Maurice Alexander, Austin Maloney, Jermaine Sheriff, Thomas Owens, Jonathan Pavlov, Dallas Connell and Laroy James, visited with students at Perrine Elementary, speaking about the importance of reading and a good education.

"This was a great opportunity for our guys to spend time with the students of Perrine Elementary," Assistant Coach Greg Moss said. "Our guys used their role as student-athletes to hit home the message of how important it is to take care of work in the classroom. That to be successful in life, a good education is important and that they would not be able to be Division I student-athletes, if they had not done take care of business academically."
