Six @FIUFootball Games to Be Televised in 2016; Home Game Times Announced

IRVING, Texas (June 8, 2016) – Conference USA has announced its preliminary television schedule for the 2016 football season, including an initial six FIU games selected for TV this upcoming season.
 
National games will be televised this season on ESPN Networks, CBS Sports Network, American Sports Network and beIN SPORTS.  The majority of these exposures will take place on Saturday, with select Thursday and Friday night telecasts also being featured. 
 
Friday, Sept. 9; Maryland at FIU (CBS Sports Network); 7:30 p.m. ET
Saturday, Sept. 24; UCF at FIU (beIN SPORTS); 7:00 p.m. ET
Saturday, Oct. 1; Florida Atlantic at FIU (beIN SPORTS); 7:00 p.m. ET
Saturday, Nov. 5; FIU at WKU (beIN SPORTS); 5:30 p.m. ET
Saturday, Nov. 19; Marshall at FIU (American Sports Network); 7:00 p.m. ET
 
Also part of C-USA's national TV package, FIU's season opener set for Thursday, Sept. 1, versus Indiana, will be broadcast on ESPNU.
 
Thursday, Sept. 1; Indiana at FIU (ESPNU); 7:30 p.m. ET
 
FIU also announced game times for two of its home contests this season, including Homecoming versus Louisiana Tech on Oct. 22.
 
Saturday, Oct. 22; FIU vs. Louisiana Tech (Homecoming); 7:00 p.m. ET
Saturday, Oct. 29; FIU vs. Middle Tennessee; 7:00 p.m. ET
 
The Panthers will have four of its first five games nationally televised as FIU hosts Indiana to open the season (Sept. 1 on ESPNU) followed by Maryland (Sept. 9 on CBS Sports Network) a week later. Two weeks later, the Panthers host in-state rival UCF (Sept. 24 on beIN SPORTS) and open C-USA play versus Florida Atlantic (Oct. 1 on beIN SPORTS) at Ocean Bank Field at FIU Stadium.
 
Additionally, FIU will travel to Bowling Green, Kentucky, to take on WKU (beIN SPORTS) on Saturday, Nov. 5, and will host Marshall (American Sports Network) in the final home game of the season on Nov. 19.
 
The 2016 C-USA Championship game on Saturday, Dec. 3 is scheduled to air on either ESPN or ESPN 2.  It marks the 12th-straight year that the C-USA Championship will air on the ESPN Networks.  ESPN is also scheduled to carry all six of C-USA's bowl games in which it has a guaranteed selection.
 
Additional Conference USA football television exposures will be released as soon as they are finalized.

The 2016 FIU football season will kick off on Thursday, Sept. 1, when the Panthers host the Indiana Hoosiers.


FIU's 2016 schedule is highlighted with games against Miami Beach Bowl and 2015 C-USA champion WKU, R+L Carriers New Orleans Bowl champion Louisiana Tech, St. Petersburg Bowl champion Marshall, Popeyes Bahama Bowl participant Middle Tennessee, and New Era Pinstripe Bowl participant Indiana. In addition, the Panthers will face Maryland, Massachusetts, UCF, Florida Atlantic, UTEP, Charlotte and Old Dominion.
