MIAMI (Jan. 28, 2016) – The FIU women's tennis team (1-0) hosts the Troy Trojans (1-1) on Friday, Jan. 29, in the Panthers' home opener. First serve is set for 2:30 p.m. from the FIU Tennis Courts.
Admission to Friday's match is free to the public.
The Panthers opened the season with a 4-0 sweep at Florida Gulf Coast last Saturday. Sophomore

Andrea Lazaro each collected singles victories, while the duos of Nagode and freshman
Maryna Veksler and Lazaro and senior
Carlotta Orlando claimed the doubles point versus the Eagles.
It marked the third-straight, season-opening victory for the Panthers and improved FIU to 4-1 all-time versus FGCU.
Friday's contest will mark the 10
th meeting all-time between FIU and Troy with the Panthers owning an 8-1 edge in the series history with the Trojans. The last meeting between the two squads was during the 2012 Sun Belt Tournament as FIU defeated Troy, 4-3, in the opening round on April 20 in Denton, Texas.
