MIAMI (Jan. 26, 2019) - In front of a capacity crowd at Saturday's men's basketball game, the FIU football team was honored for its victory in the 2018 Makers Wanted Bahamas Bowl.
The "International Champions" made their appearance at halftime of the FIU-FAU basketball game to a raucous applause from the crowd on hand. Head Coach
Butch Davis had a few remarks for the crowd before the team exited the court with Makers Wanted Bahamas Bowl trophy in tow.
Entering its 18th year of football in 2019, the FIU Panthers are coming off a program-best nine wins a season ago. FIU capped 2018 with a 35-32 victory over Toledo in the Makers Wanted Bahamas Bowl to finish the season 9-4 overall. Under legendary head coach
Butch Davis, the Panthers have earned back-to-back bowl appearances and 17 wins in the last two years.
