TALLAHASSEE (Oct. 19, 2019) - Action continued at the ITA Southeast Regional Championships on Saturday, as the Panthers picked up a doubles victory to highlight play on Saturday.
The doubles duo of
Kamila Umarova and
Basak Akbas downed their first foes of the day 8-4, before falling in the quarterfinals after a tough match to Georgia's No. 19 ranked pair of Christofi and Wolff. The UGA pair later advanced to the finals of the ITA Southeast Regionals.
In singles play, Umarova fell to UGA's Lea Ma, 6-1, 7-6(5). Akbas dropped her match as well, falling to Meg Kowlawski, 6-3, 6-1.
