DAYTONA BEACH, Florida (April 12, 2019) - The FIU Cheer and Dazzler squads made some noise at the NCA & NDA Collegiate Cheer and Dance Championships this past weekend in Daytona Beach, Florida.
The FIU Cheer squad finished runner-up at the national event, while the Dazzlers claimed third in the hip hop category and ninth overall in the team performance.
"From Dazzler to Director, I never dreamed FIU would be up there with such talented universities," Director of Cheer and Dazzlers
Karina Saud said. "But thanks to our cheerleaders, Dazzlers and coaches, FIU is among the top cheer and dance teams in the nation."
The cheer team made a jump from 11th place to second place in 2019 at the nationals, while logging the highest raw score of the division.
