Austin Shenton continued his 12-game hit streak.
Below is a brief recap of how each FIU team performed this past week.
Women's Golf
The FIU golf team concluded its 2018-19 regular season slate at the C-USA Championships last week, with the Panthers bookending the year at Fort Myers. Sophomore
Valentina Gilly highlighted the action, finishing tied for 15th overall at the tournament. Fellow sophomore

FIU baseball split a four-game road trip that started with 7-4 victory at Bethune-Cookman on Wednesday before heading up north for a three-game set with Old Dominion. The Panthers split the Saturday doubleheader by exploding for 12-runs in the nightcap before falling in the Sunday series finale. Junior
Austin Shenton continued his 12-game hit streak for the Panthers, as he collected three doubles and batted in six runs. FIU travels to Coral Gables on Wednesday, April 24, before opening up the longest homestand of the season as Charlotte visits for a weekend series beginning on Friday at 7 p.m. ET.
Beach Volleyball
The No. 9-ranked FIU beach volleyball team turned in a 3-1 record over the weekend at the 2019 Coastal Collegiate Sports Association (CCSA) Tournament in Emerson, Georgia, April 19-21. The Panthers, seeded third in the event, began pool play, 2-0, with a dominating 5-0 win over UAB and a 3-2 win over No. 19 Florida Atlantic. FIU then earned a bye into the quarterfinals where it handed No. 13 South Carolina a decisive 4-1 loss. The Blue and Gold advanced to the semifinals where they lost to No. 4-ranked, and second-seeded LSU, 3-2.
Lina Bernier and
Erika Zembyla were named to the CCSA All-Tournament Team after going 4-0 on the weekend on the number four court. FIU must now wait until Sunday, April 28, for the 2019 NCAA Beach Volleyball Selection Show (on NCAA.com), to learn its fate for the NCAA Championships, May 3-5, in Gulf Shores, Alabama.
Women's Tennis
The FIU women's tennis team traveled to Houston this past week to defend its conference crown at the C-USA Championships, as the Panthers advanced to the quarterfinals before falling to North Texas in a 4-3 heartbreaker. The Panthers entered the first round seeded fourth, as FIU picked up a 4-1 victory over UTEP to open the tournament on Friday. FIU capped the regular season with an 11-8 record overall and 4-1 mark in conference play.
Softball
After a rainy Friday that caused its conference series to be moved to a doubleheader, the FIU softball team dropped a pair of games against Charlotte on the road. The Panthers lost the first game 7-2, before falling 9-1 in six innings against Charlotte to close out the weekend. With the pair of losses, FIU falls to 22-22 overall and 4-13 in league action. The Panthers will stay on the road as FIU makes the trip to Orlando, Florida to face UCF for a non-conference contest on April 24, before returning home to face Southern Miss over the weekend.
Track & Field
The FIU track and field team sent six athletes to Atlanta to compete in the Georgia Tech Invitational this past weekend. Junior Rahel Gebretsadik highlighted Friday's action, placing 14th of 36 runners in the 1500m, running 4:45.92, just one second off her personal best.
