Biography

2021 - BEACH 
Went 28-4 overall individually during the season... Achieved a 21-3 record with partner Gina Lipscomb... Posted a 12-2 mark on court three... Went 5-1 on court four... Recorded a 7-1 record with partner Ali Denney and posted a 4-0 record on court three... Went 4-0 on court three.... Named to the CCSA All-Academic Team.... Picked up wins over then-ranked No. 9 TCU, No. 11 Stetson, and No. 12 FAU with partner Lipscomb... Topped then-ranked No. 3 Florida State, No. 14 Florida Atlantic and No. 19 Stetson with partner Denney. Named CCSA Pair of the Week with Denney (4/14).

2020* - BEACH 
Went 8-1 overall during the season… Posted a 0-1 record with partner Ali Denney on court two… Recorded an 8-0 record at court three with partner Gina Lipscomb.

2019 - INDOOR 
Named to the Conference USA All-Academic Team… Played in 26 matches at the libero position… Led the team 530 digs for a 5.15 digs per set… Notched 109 assists for a 1.07 assists per set average… Served 16 aces for the season… Posted a .957 reception percentage… Tallied a career-best 41 digs against North Texas (11/1)… Posted seven assists in both matches against Marshall (9/29, 11/8) and UTSA (11/3)… Served three aces against North Texas (11/1)… Recorded her only kill this season against Florida Atlantic (9/27).

2019 – BEACH
Logged a 21-6 overall record… Named to the CCSA All-Tournament Team… Posted a 1-1 mark on court three… Recorded a 14-3 mark on court three primarily with Erika Zembyla… Went 6-2 at court five.

2018 - INDOOR 
Was named to the 2019 Google Cloud Academic All-District Team after posting a 3.80 grade-point-average in biomedical engineering, and to the Conference USA All-Academic Team … Was also a two-time Conference USA Defensive Player of the Week honoree … Played in 31 matches and 116 sets for the Panthers … She led the team with 541 digs and 4.66 digs-per-set … Was third on the team in assists with 126 and was also fourth on the team in service aces with 17 … Recorded a season-high 12 assist against UTSA (10/6) … Against UCF (9/7) she logged a season-high 29 digs and then equaled that against North Texas (9/30) later that month.

2018 – BEACH
Went 19-15 for the season with partners Madison Besterfield, Dorina Klinger and Erika Zembyla… Posted an 8-6 mark on court two… Went 11-7 on court three… Logged a 0-3 record on court four.

2017 - INDOOR 
Missed the indoor season with an injury.

2017 – BEACH
Named to the CCSA All-Academic Team… Went 19-8 for the season and 6-4 in conference play with partner Natalia Giron… Posted a 5-2 mark on court two and a 2-2 record on court three… Went 3-1 on court four and 9-3 on court five.

2016 – INDOOR 
Played in all 102 sets, starting in all 28 matches (seven as libero)…played every position, except for middle blocker…led the team in digs with 257 (2.52 dig/s)…fourth on the team in kills (166) and points (191.0)…recorded two double-doubles: 12 kills, 16 digs against Southeastern Louisiana (9/3) and 13 kills, 15 digs against UTSA (11/6)…recorded a career-high 16 kills, resulting in 17.5 points against Mississippi State (9/16).

2016 – BEACH 
Redshirted the 2016 season.
 
2015 – INDOOR
Played four matches, starting all of them…missed the final 24 matches of the season due to injury…led the team in kills/set (3.09)…second on the team in hitting percentage (.300)…posted a double-double on season opener against North Florida (8/28/15) with 10 kills and 17 digs.
 
PRIOR TO FIU
Attended Colegia San Antonio in San Juan, Puerto Rico…lettered in volleyball, soccer, tennis and track and field for four years, while lettering two years in volleyball…named MVP in volleyball and track and field…garnered Athlete of the Year as well as the Hawk’s Award…was the Colegia San Antonio Valedictorian…also participated in book club, math club and was a National Honor Society member…part of G.V.A. Local Championships 2011-14…additional amateur experiences include AAU in Orlando, Junior Olympic Games in California and Youth Olympic Games…was also her club team’s MVP.
 
PERSONAL
Daughter of Hiram Bernier and Niurka Colón…has five siblings, one older: Laura and four younger: Sophia,  Astrid, David and Francisco… hobbies include reading, boogie boarding, paddle boarding and hiking…major is biomedical engineering.
