FORT WORTH, Texas (July 16, 2019) - The Davey O'Brien Foundation has revealed the 2019 Davey O'Brien National Quarterback Award Watch List on Tuesday, with FIU football's
James Morgan making the cut.
The group released on Tuesday includes 30 of the nation's top returning college quarterbacks. Morgan was named to the Davey O'Brien Great 8 List last season, after his performance against Middle Tennessee that led to a 24-21 victory for the Panthers. Morgan threw for 311 yards and two scores in the win over Middle Tennessee.Â
In his first season at FIU, Morgan took the conference by storm as he earned C-USA Newcomer of the Year honors on his way to a record-breaking season. The Green Bay, Wisconsin native broke single-season school records for passing touchdowns (26), highest passer efficiency rating (157.6) and total offense per play (7.67). Morgan also garnered C-USA Honorable Mention, C-USA Spirit of Service Award, Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award Watch List and Manning Stars of the Week to name a few distinctions.Â
