MIAMI (Aug. 23, 2019) - With the start of the 2019 season under a week away, the FIU football program is hosting Meet the Panthers this Sunday at Riccardo Silva Stadium. 

The event will take place from 5:00-6:00 p.m. ET, as fans, alumni and students are welcomed to join the team on the field. In addition to on-field access, those attending will have the chance to get photos, autographs and giveaways at the event. 

The Panthers will kickoff the 2019 season next week, as FIU travels to Tulane on Thursday, Aug. 29. Following the 8:00 p.m. ET contest in New Orleans, the Panthers will return home to face WKU on Saturday, Sept. 7 at 7:00 p.m. ET.

Entering its 18th year of football in 2019, the FIU Panthers are coming off a program-best nine wins a season ago. FIU capped 2018 with a 35-32 victory over Toledo in the Makers Wanted Bahamas Bowl to finish the season 9-4 overall. Under legendary head coach Butch Davis, the Panthers have earned back-to-back bowl appearances and 17 wins in the last two years.
