MIAMI (Sept. 12, 2019) - The FIU cross country team is set to compete in the 2019 Mountain Dew Gator Cross Country Invitational, held at the Mark Bostick Golf Course in Gainesville, Florida. 

The Panthers are coming off their season opener at FAU two weeks ago. Thirty-seven teams are slated to compete in Gainesville this weekend. 

The men's race will begin at 7:55 a.m., while the women will start at 8:30 a.m. For meet information and a course map, click here. 

The FIU women placed fourth in its opener in Boca, led by two top five finishes from Sherilene Gelderblom and Rahel Gerbretsadik. The men ran the meet as a pack workout, averaging 17:35 with a two second split between runners one through five to begin the season. 

Spectator parking will be at the University of Florida Law School located on the corner of SW 2nd Ave and Village Drive (309 Village Drive).
