HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – FIU men's and women's cross country both completed the 2025 cross country season with their performances in Huntsville on Friday. The women's team placed 21st of 28 and the men's team was 25th of 27.

Valerie Lastra was the high finisher for the women's team, finishing 53rd with a time of 20:46.34. She was followed by Beata Wrigstad, who at 21:13.07, finished 76th, the only other top 100 finish for the women's squad.

In the 10K, Jared Falchook placed 99th with a finish of 32:13.68. The next closest Panther was Pedro Zapata Hernandez, who placed 140th with a time of 33:11.41.

The teams will now turn attention to indoor track & field season, which begins this winter.
