Thanks to an anonymous lead gift of $150,000 – the largest one-time donation in program history – and additional donations totaling $40,000, the fundraising foundation of $190,000 has been established toward construction of an on-campus, state-of-the-art practice facility for the FIU track & field program!

This multipurpose, on-campus facility is scheduled to be built at the intersection of SW 11th St. and SW 116th Ave. near the National Hurricane Center, and will feature the following elements:

• 55-meter x 10-meter asphalt 5-lane track with a premium poured Beynon Sports surface.
• 12-meter x 8-meter long and triple jump sand pits.
• Dedicated practice area for pole vault.
• Dedicated practice area for high jump.
   

Despite not currently having an on-campus practice area, FIU has consistently achieved success on both the Conference USA and national stages. This dedicated space will play a vital role in further elevating the program while improving the holistic student-athlete experience.

Under head coach Ryan Heberling, the FIU track & field program has seen unprecedented success over the last four years. The Panthers have had 12 athletes earn All-American status since 2022, including an NCAA All-American First Team member and two All-American Honorable Mentions during the 2026 outdoor season. The program also saw 11 medalists at the CUSA Outdoor Championships and 11 NCAA Regional Qualifiers.
