GAINESVILLE (Sept. 14, 2019) -
Rahel Gebretsadik's 15th place finish at the Mountain Dew Gator Cross Country Invitational highlighted a successful day in Gainesville for the FIU cross country program.Â

WOMEN'S FINAL RESULTS
Gebretsadik placed 15th out of 306 runners in the 5K, with a personal best of 18:46. Gebretsadik's previous PR came at the same course last year, where she ran 18:49 at the Bostick Golf Course.
Sherilene Gelderblom followed closely behind Saturday morning, crossing the finish in 19:00 for 26th place.
Anais Da Silva, Esmerald Rodriguez, and
Delilah Ayan rounded out the top five for FIU, who all finished in the top half of the field.Â
On the men's side, the Panthers traveled four runners, with
Eliseo Torres leading the way in the 8K with a 27:39 for 67th place.
Daniel Areces cracked the top 100 with a 28:01 for 94th, while
Christian Alexander and
Christian Aubert also competed for FIU.
UP NEXT
The Panthers now approach a bye week, with the next competition set to take place on September 27, when FIU travels to Orlando to compete in the UCF Alumni XC Invitational.Â
