MIAMI (Oct. 1, 2020) – The FIU cross country team will open up its 2020 campaign Friday morning, competing in the Florida State Invitational at Apalachee Regional Park in Tallahassee.
 
"Both the men and the women have put in a great amount of work throughout the summer, even when it was unknown what this season would look like," said FIU head distance coach 
Jermaine Felix. "We're excited to spike up and get the chance to compete at a talented meet and fast course."

This will be the lone competition for the men prior to the Conference USA Championships. The women will run again at UAB on Oct. 16.
 
Last season, 
Rahel Gebretsadik set a twelve-second personal best running 18:34, while 
Eliseo Torres led the men with a top-sixty finish, crossing the line in 26:27.
