FIU Women's Tennis Recruiting Class Ranked 21st

FIU was ranked second overall among mid-major Division I programs

MIAMI (June 1, 2020) - The Tennis Recruiting Network released the TRN/Mizuno Top 25 Women's Recruiting Classes and listed FIU's incoming class 21st among NCAA Division I programs. FIU was ranked second overall among mid-major Division I programs. 

The TRN panelists who formulate these rankings are reporters, tournament directors from around the globe, officials, ranking chairmen and writers from across the country. 

"I'm very proud on our 2020 recruiting class to be ranked Top 25 nationally," head coach Katarina Petrovic said. "We signed not only good prospects, but individuals that would fit into our competitive culture at FIU. I feel very good about our team strength, lineup wise, and future accomplishments."

Anjela Skrobaja and Andreea Velcea make up FIU's class, with the pair set to begin their careers in Blue and Gold in the fall of 2020. According to tennisrecruiting.com, Skrobonja holds an ITF ranking of 112 and a Universal Tennis Rating of 11.14. Velcea ranks 512 in the ITF with a 10.86 UTR, holding a combined score of 96 points.
