DALLAS (Jan. 6, 2021) - FIU football's
Bryce Singleton was named a recipient of the Conference USA Spirit of Service Award, the league office announced on Wednesday.
The award honors the league's student-athletes with significant community service endeavors, excellent academic standing and notable athletic achievements. The Spirit of Service award is presented three times throughout the season, with Wednesday's honorees representing men's and women's cross country and football. Singleton was one of 13 honorees, with each C-USA institution garnering a selection.
After missing all of 2019 due to injury, Singleton returned to the football field in 2020 and caught a touchdown pass in his first return to action against Liberty on Sept. 26, 2020. The Hilton Head, South Carolina native, led all FIU wide receivers in yards and catches in 2020.
Singleton has proven he's more than just a football player, after volunteering his time with FIU's Relay for Life and the Roarthon. The Relay for Life benefits the American Cancer Society, while the Roarthon is a dance marathon that raises money for the Children's Miracle Network Hospitals at Miami Children's Hospital Foundation, a fundraising arm of Nicklaus Children's Hospital.
Singleton has also excelled in the classroom, with the Recreation and Sports Management major earning a 3.11 GPA.
