JACKSONVILLE, Florida (May 29,2021) - FIU outdoor track and field wrapped up competition at the NCAA East Preliminaries in Jacksonville, Florida, with Queshun Watson-Riggins competing in the triple jump and Desmond Dorceus participating in the discus on Thursday. 

FINAL RESULTS

Watson-Riggins, who earned two gold medals at the Conference USA Outdoor Championships and had placed 20th in the long jump on Tuesday, finished 30th in the triple jump with a mark of 15.20m. The event marks the conclusion of a season where the sophomore broke the FIU school record in the long jump and now holds the second best mark in the triple jump at 15.69m, which he set at the conference meet. 

Dorceus, a freshman, fouled in his attempts during the discus, but ends the season holding the school record in the event at 54.09m. 

Rhema Otabor represents the Panthers at the NCAA Outdoor Championships, hosted by Oregon at the newly renovated Hayward Field, when she competes in the javelin on Thursday, June 10, at 4:45 PM ET.
