DALLAS (July 23, 2021) – FIU's Daniel Jackson was named to the Conference USA Preseason Academic Watch List, the league office announced on Friday afternoon. One student-athlete from each of the conference's 14 member institutions is recognized for their academic prowess ahead of the 2021 season.
 
Jackson, who already has a degree in communication arts, is scheduled to graduate this summer with a second degree in interdisciplinary studies. 
 
The Apex, North Carolina, native, played in all five games for the Panthers in 2020, collecting 10 total tackles. His best performance of the year was against FAU when the linebacker collected two tackles and a tackle for loss.
 
The Panthers begin the 2021 season when the FIU welcomes LIU to FIU Stadium on Sept. 2. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. ET.
