2022 FIU FOOTBALL SCHEDULE

MIAMI – The FIU football team closed out spring drills before thousands of Panther fans and alumni with the 2022 Spring Showcase on Saturday evening at FIU Stadium.
 
FIU head coach Mike MacIntyre interacted with fans, FIU students and alumni throughout the event and some were invited to the field to take part in the action by attempting to kick field goals and throw passes during drills and even call plays during the scrimmage segment.
 
Fans were treated to a festival-like atmosphere as Saturday's showcase featured a special themed area for kids that included appearances by Superheroes and cartoon characters and a postgame autograph session on the field with FIU players and coaches.
 
The Panthers closed out the evening with a scrimmage for the fans, giving them a taste of the fast-paced offense and physical defense that FIU will employ during the upcoming 2022 campaign.
 
In addition, over 30 former FIU football players attended the event, including current New England Patriot Jonnu Smith, among others.
 
FIU opens the 2022 slate on Thursday, September 1 vs. Bryant University at FIU Stadium.  Kickoff time is TBA.
 
Some of the highlights during Saturday's final scrimmage of the spring included:

• Interception by sophomore Brian Blades, who later added a pass breakup 
• Sack by junior linebacker Shaun Peterson Jr.
• 25-yard TD pass from Haden Carlson to Kris Mitchell
• Touchdown run by EJ Wilson Jr.
• Pass breakup by Gio Richardson
• 30-yard leaping reception by Tyrese Chambers
• Rushing TD by Hosea Robinson
