MIAMI - Five members of the FIU football team have been honored with selection to Pro Football Focus' Preseason All-Conference USA squad.
 
Senior wide receiver Tyrese Chambers, and sophomore tight end Rivaldo Fairweather were recognized with first-team status, while Lyndell Hudson Jr. and Davon Strickland were tabbed with third-team honors.
 
In addition, Lexington Joseph was named as an honorable mention selection as a punt/kick returner.
 
The Panthers are set to kick off the 2022 season on Thursday, Sept. 1 vs. Bryant University.
 
Pro Football Focus (PFF) is a sports analytics company that focuses on thorough analysis of the National Football League (NFL) and NCAA FCS/FBC football in the United States.
 
PFF produces 0–100 Player Grades and a range of advanced statistics for teams and players by watching, charting, and grading every player on every play in every game both at the NFL and FBS level.

FAN FEST (SATURDAY, AUGUST 13)
Panthers fans are invited to "Fan Fest" for a special opportunity to get a first look at the FIU football team during an open practice at FIU Stadium on Saturday, August 13.
 
Gates for the event will open at 6 p.m. and will feature a post-practice meet and greet/autograph session with members of the football program.

Practice will begin at approximately 7 p.m.
 
Admission is free for all fans. Complimentary food and drinks will be available on a limited basis. 
 
Additional food and beverages offerings will be available for purchase throughout the evening.
 
Fans wishing to attend the "Fan Fest" are asked to request their free tickets via the FIU Online Ticket Office.
