MIAMI — FIU women's basketball's Kaliah Henderson and Tanajah Hayes earned recognition from Conference USA as members of its Preseason Team, as announced on Thursday afternoon.

The Panthers' dynamic backcourt duo combined to average 25.9 points per game last season. Henderson, a versatile guard, poured in 15.7 points per game while also adding 4.6 rebounds per game, shooting 75.7 percent from the free throw line.
Henderson's 15.7 points per game ranked fifth in Conference USA in 2022-23. She also ranked seventh in field goal percentage, shooting 40.7 from the field, and 11th in the free throw percentage.
Hayes, FIU's top facilitator, averaged 10.2 points per game while dishing out a team-high 108 assists and adding 3.8 rebounds per game.
Hayes was also in the top-10 of the CUSA ranks, sitting seventh in assists per game.
FIU is one of just three CUSA schools with more than one selection to the Preseason Team, joined by Middle Tennessee and Western Kentucky.
CUSA also released its Preseason Poll in conjuction with the Preseason All-Conference Team. FIU was picked seventh of nine CUSA teams, garnering 28 points.
The Panthers play Florida National University at home to open their 2023-24 season on Monday, Nov. 6 inside the Ocean Bank Convocation Center.
