Volleyball Trio Earns All-CUSA Status

Amin and Sadeiko Earned First Team Status and Tagoa'i was Named to the All-Freshman Team

MIAMI — FIU volleyball's Yasso Amin, Gianna Tagoa'i and Jade Sadeiko all earned selections to the All-Conference USA (CUSA) Volleyball Team, as announced on Thursday afternoon. 

Amin and Sadeiko both earned First Team status to lead the Panthers while Tagoa'i was named to the All-Freshman team. FIU was one of just three teams who received multiples All-CUSA selections, joining Middle Tennessee and Western Kentucky.

Amin, a senior from Cairo, Egypt, ranked second in service aces per set (0.59) and overall service aces (27). The middle hitter also was in the top-10 in points per set both in CUSA play and in all competitions. Amin racked up 191 kills at a 2.30 kills per set average, attacking at a team-high .264 clip. 

Sadeiko led the Panthers with 316 kills and had 3.0 kills per set in CUSA play, sixth-best in the conference. The senior outsider hitter finished seventh overall in CUSA in kills in all competitions. Her 3.54 points per set were also seventh-best among CUSA competitors. 

Tagoa'i racked up 222 assists in 35 sets for an average of 6.34 assists per set. She earned back-to-back Freshman of the Week Awards to begin her FIU career. The setter from Redondo Beach, Calif. had 30 or more assists in four matches for the Panthers, including a season-high 35 in a win over Alabama State. 

Sixth-seeded FIU will take on third-seeded Middle Tennessee in the Conference USA Tournament at 6 p.m. in Lynchburg, Va. on Friday, Nov. 17.
