MIAMI Fla. – FIU women's basketball guard Kaliah Henderson earned for the first time Conference USA Player of the Week honors for the period ending Feb. 5, conference officials announced today.
 
FIU went a perfect 2-0 last week with victories over Charlotte and UAB. The two wins at home improved the Panthers' overall record to 12-10 and 7-6 in C-USA action.
 
In both games, Henderson averaged 24 points, 3.5 rebounds, and 3.0 steals. The senior recorded a career high 28 points on 9-17 shooting, 8-10 from the foul line, and chipped in four steals in a 50-44 win against the 49ers on Thursday (Feb.2). She scored 16 of the 28 in the fourth quarter to lead the Panthers to a 13-point comeback win. 
 
Against UAB on Saturday (Feb.4), Henderson followed up with another brilliant performance off the bench tallying 20 points, six rebounds, two assists, and two steals in an 84-81 victory. Henderson has now scored double- figures in eight straight games. 
 
After this week's performance, Henderson is seventh in C-USA averaging 14.6 points per game and fourth in the conference averaging 2.1 steals. 
 
UP NEXT
The Panthers will be traveling next week for a two-game road trip as their first stop will be in Ruston, LA to take on Louisiana Tech on Thursday, Feb. 9 at 7 p.m. ET. Their trip will continue to Houston, TX to play against Rice on Saturday, Feb. 11 at 2:00 p.m. ET. Both games will be streamed on C-USA.tv
