MIAMI – FIU sophomore quarterback
Keyone Jenkins has been selected as the Conference USA Co-Offensive Player of the Week for the period ending Nov. 30, conference officials announced on Monday.
Jenkins completed 19-of-27 passes for 319 yards and three touchdowns in the Panthers' 35-27 victory over Middle Tennessee in the season finale at South Dade Kia Field at Pitbull Stadium on Saturday. He helped FIU race out to an early 28-7 lead with 232 of his 319 passing yards coming in the opening 30 minutes of the contest.
He finished his sophomore campaign with 22 passing touchdowns – which is the second-highest single-season total in FIU history. He became the first Panthers' signal caller with more than 20 touchdown tosses since Alex McGough (21) in 2015. In addition, his 33 career touchdown passes slots him fifth among FIU career leaders.
Jenkins currently boasts 4,971 passing yards in his career – which is the sixth-highest total in FIU annals.
Jenkins leads Conference USA and ranks 25th among FBS leaders with his 22 passing touchdowns and ranks second in CUSA in passing efficiency (151.1) and passing yards per completion (13.6).
Jenkins' weekly CUSA honor marks his second and the fifth overall for FIU this season. He is one of three Panthers to be recognized with a weekly conference honor in 2024, joining
Travion Barnes, who has earned the Defensive Player of the Week honor twice this season and
Eric Rivers, who was selected as Co-CUSA Offensive Player of the Week on Nov. 4.
