HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – Men's and women's cross country wrapped up competition at the Conference USA championships in Huntsville, highlighted by
Valerie Lastra placing in ninth on the women's side to help the Panthers to an eighth-place team finish.
Lastra earned Second Team All-Conference honors after her performance in the 6K, placing ninth with a time of 20:45.54. Next was freshman Beata Wrigstad, placing 32nd with a time of 21.26.55, followed by
Lorena Bartakovic in 42nd with a finish of 21.49.22.
The men's team took home a ninth-place finish and were led by
Jared Falchook, who was 29th with a time of 25:04.76.
Brad Malick-Beltran (54th, 26:00.75) and Pedro Zapata Hernandez (56th, 26:05.51) were the next two finishers for the men's team.
Up next is the NCAA South Regional on November 14.
