MIAMI — FIU football's Joe Pesansky was named the Conference USA (CUSA) Offensive Player of the Week, as announced on Monday afternoon.

Pesansky, in his first start as a Panther, set a new program record as the first-ever FIU football player to account for five touchdowns in one game (four passing, one rushing) in the Panthers' dominant 56-30 win over Middle Tennessee on Saturday. The Tampa, Fla.-native passed for 257 yards and added 29 rushing yards on the ground to pace the FIU offense.

FIU's 56 points scored with Pesansky as the signal-caller are the third-most in a game in program history and the most of any FBS team in Week 11. Pesansky also matched a school-record with his four touchdown passes in the victory.

Pesansky is now the second Panther this season to earn Offensive Player of the Week accolades, joining Kejon Owens, who was named to the same honor on Sept. 15 and Oct. 20.
