NEW YORK CITY — FIU's women's track and field program enjoyed a record-breaking day at the Scarlet Knight Open on Friday.

The Panthers made the most of their trip to 'the Big Apple' with four event victories and several other top-10 program marks and personal-bests.

The day was highlighted by Michaelle Valentin's victory in the weight throw with a mark of 21.91 meters. Valentin's throw is a new personal-best and school-record along with a Haitian national record. A returning All-American, she currently sits ninth among all NCAA DI competitors in the weight throw.

Danielle McGonigle, Lisa Redlinger and Luca Keszthelyi also earned victories in their respective events. McGonigle earned the top spot in the long jump with a mark of 5.62 meters cleared.

Redlinger won an event for the second-straight meet, this time earning first in the 5000m with a time of 16:20.45, a personal-best and school-record time. Leonora Lynn also competed in the 5000m for FIU and finished four with a time of 17:40.38, fifth-best all-time for FIU.

Keszthelyi cleared a mark of 1.81 meters in the high jump to take first place. This mark is second all-time for the Panthers and a freshman record. Teammate Amaya Bien-Aime produced a jump of 1.77 meters, finishing second with a mark that is third all-time for indoor at FIU. Kesthelyi's mark is currently 17th in the NCAA while Bien-Aime's is 39th.

In the weight throw, the Panthers showed their team depth with Valentin's first place along with Liz Alfred finishing third and Janiya Cesar finishing fourth.

FIU also had team success in the pole vault as Nicole Janse Van Rensburg and Luciana Gomez Iriondo finished fourth and fifth, respectively. Both cleared marks of 4.03 meters, tied-fourth all-time on the FIU charts.

In the mile, Ane Martin del Campo, Lisa Adjouadi and Lorena Bartakovic all finished inside the top-10. Adjouadi's time of 5:00.49 is her second personal-best of the indoor season and sits sixth all-time for the Panthers.
