MIAMI — FIU softball's dynamic duo of Kally Meredith and Paige Miller have been named to the Preseason All-Conference USA (CUSA) squad, as announced on Thursday afternoon.
Miller and Meredith, who were high school teammates at Kaukauna in Kaukauna, Wis., continue to receive deserved recognition as Preseason All-CUSA honorees entering their junior campaigns. Last season, both were named Second Team All-CUSA following impressive sophomore seasons as the Panthers racked up 29 wins, their most since 2018.
In 2025, Meredith set the program record for most stolen bases in a season (40) during her sophomore campaign. Her 40 stolen bases were seventh-best nationally and her stolen base percentage (93.0) ranked 12th-best in the country. Meredith led FIU with her .352 batting average and her 63 hits, of which were the fourth-most in CUSA. Additionally, Meredith has been recognized as one of the top defensive outfielders in the nation, patrolling centerfield for the Panthers.
Miller, who primarily plays third base for FIU, made an immediate impact in the Panther lineup with her .351 batting average and team-high .432 on-base percentage. She had a CUSA-best six sacrifice bunts in league play and had the third-most steals (9) in conference competition. Miller also walked 14 times and had three multi-RBI games in conference play.
For Meredith, this is her second-consecutive season being selected to the Preseason All-CUSA Team. For Miller, who transferred to FIU following her freshman season as Wisconsin, this is her first-ever Preseason All-CUSA honor. FIU is one of just five CUSA programs will more than one selection to the Preseason All-CUSA Team.
CUSA also released its preseason poll on Thursday, in which FIU was picked seventh of 12 CUSA programs. Entering the fold this season as newcomers to CUSA are both Delaware, who was picked sixth, and Missouri State, who was picked tied-10th. Liberty was chosen as the conference preseason favorites with 11-of-12 first place votes.
