NASHVILLE– FIU women's track & field wrapped up its two-day performance at the Music City Challenge with some notable performances throughout the event.
Luca Keszthelyi led the way for FIU in the high jump, pacing the Panthers with a jump of 1.78m.
Isabell-Mary Luik finished just behind her tied for fifth with a jump of 1.73m.
In the pole vault, several Panthers had good outputs - in the invite,
Kylie Neira placed third at 4.05m, and in the final,
Emma Meszaros and
Sydney Nicholson tied for sixth with a jump of 3.72m.
Freshman
Beata Wrigstad had a strong performance in the 3K, outdoing her time in the Dr. Rick McGuire Invitational and finishing fourth with a run of 9:48.76.
In the triple jump,
Danielle McGonigle placed second at 12.44m. She also placed fifth in the long jump (5.58m), only outdone by teammates Luik (2nd, 5.84m) and
Nyla Fulvi (4th, 5.61m).
Janiya Cesar (19.50m) also added a second-place finish in the weight throw.
The Panthers have a month off until indoor championships in Fayetteville on Mar. 13.
