MIAMI– Eric Dibami has earned Conference USA Freshman of the Week Honors for the second time this season, the league announced Monday.
Dibami, who previously earned this honor during Week 8, led all freshmen in the conference in both scoring (12.0 ppg) and rebounding (8.5 rpg) as the Panthers split the Middle Tennessee-Western Kentucky road trip. In addition, he averaged 2.5 assists per game across the two contests.
In game one in Murfreesboro, Dibami recorded his fifth-career double-double, putting him alone in fourth in program history for double-doubles in a season by a freshman. He was crucial in the overtime win, going for 10 points and a team-best 10 boards while also dishing a career-high three assists against the Blue Raiders.
He followed with another strong game at Western Kentucky, scoring 14 points on 5-9 shooting and going a perfect 4-4 from the line. He added six rebounds to his total, also leading the team in the road loss.
Dibami becomes the first multi-time Freshman of the Week for the Panthers since Arturo Dean in 2023-24, and is currently averaging 8.9 ppg and 6.7 rpg during his rookie season.
