Freshman (2005): Appeared in 12 games before suffering a season-ending knee injury... Struck out 11 batters in her first and only start, a complete-game win over Connecticut (2/25)... Averaged 1.14 strikeouts per inning and 8.01 strikeouts per seven innings.
Canadian National Developmental Team (2004): Appeared in four games, making two starts, at the 1st World University Softball Championship from October 26-31, helping Team Canada to a fourth-place finish... Threw her first-ever perfect game with eight strikeouts in five innings against Guatemala (10/27)... Finished tournament with a 3-0 record and no runs allowed on four hits, while fanning 16 batters in 13.1 innings of work.
Prior to FIU: Played for the Winnipeg Lightning club team since 1999, winning provincial championships from 2000-04, as well as a silver and a bronze medal at the Canadian National Championships in 2003 and 2004, respectively... Voted Most Valuable Player of the playoff round in the 2003 Canadian National Championship... Played basketball and volleyball for four years at J.H. Bruns Collegiate... Captained both teams while earning three MVP awards in basketball and one in volleyball for the Broncos.
Personal: Born August 11, 1986 in Winnipeg, Manitoba... Daughter of Mark and Mary Jane Belanger... Has an older brother, Rob (22)... At J.H. Bruns Collegiate, was named to the honor roll from 2001-03, was treasurer of the sports council and participated on the graduation committee... Chose FIU over interest from Stetson and Akron... Majoring in business with plans on working and continuing to play club softball in Winnipeg after graduating.
