Biography

2006: Second Team All-Sun Belt Conference pick and Sun Belt Conference All-Tournament selection...led the team in batting average (.376) and stolen bases (29), third in on-base percentage (.439), runs scored (53) and hits (79), hit-by-pitches (14)...ranked 39th nationally with an average of 0.50 stolen bases per game and fourth in the Sun Belt Conference...also ranked 10th in the Sun Belt in batting average overall and fifth in conference games only (.416)...had 23 multi-hit games and eight multi-RBI games...became the first Golden Panther since Gary Haight in 1991 to record seven-straight hits and fifth FIU player all-time to achieve this feat...started all 58 games he played in with 30 starts in right field and 28 starts in center...knocked in a career-high five RBI against New Orleans in the SBC Tournament (5/26)...hit his only two home runs of the season in the SBC Tournament, against Western Kentucky (5/25) and New Orleans (5/26)...went 7-for- 8 in the two-game series with eight runs scored against Florida A&M (5/1-2)...had a career-high 14-game hitting streak, snapped in the series finale against Western Kentucky (5/14)...swiped a career-high four bases against Florida A&M (5/2) and three against Manhattan (3/18).

2005: Played in 41 games, earning three starts in all three outfielder positions...his first collegiate hit was a two-run home run against La Salle (2/18)...third on the team with 11 stolen bases...swiped a career-high three bases against Lafayette (3/15)...stole two crucial bases in the Golden Panthers’ ninth-inning comeback against St. John’s (2/26).

Prior to FIU: Played at Central Arizona College where the Vaqueros posted a 43-13 record, won conference and regional titles and were the district runner-up in 2004...also in 2004, hit .325 and shared the team lead with three home runs...was second on the team in runs (33), triples (5) and stolen bases (20)...an NJCAA Academic All-American in 2004...selected in the 26th round of the 2002 Major League Baseball free agent draft by the Cincinnati Reds...played football and baseball for four years at Chaparral HS, earning all-conference and all-state honors in both sports twice...rushed for 1,100 yards on 100 carries (11.0 avg.) as a senior on the football team.

Personal: Born March 8, 1984...son of Chris and Lynnette Dunn...finance major...father played college football...named to the 2005-06 Sun Belt Academic Honor Roll...selected FIU over UNLV, Kansas State and Louisiana-Lafayette.
