Biography

One of four baseball student-athletes to make the 2007 Fall Honor Roll  with a grade-point average above 3.0.

 

Prior to FIU: Had a decorated career at Gulf Coast Community College as a freshman and sophomore, earning second team all-conference honors as an outfielder both years...was a All-Star Panhandle and Academic All-State selection in 2007...member of Dean’s List...batted .355 with three home runs, 30 RBI and a .485 on-base percentage...hit .317 as a freshman with seven home runs, 34 RBI and a .490 on-base percentage for the 2006 Panhandle Conference champions.

 

High School: Lettered three years in baseball and two years in basketball while attending North Allegheny High School and Shaler Area High School (as a junior and senior)...played on the 2003 WPIAC championship team and was a three-time Keystone Team selection...hit .320 with six home runs as a junior...played in the 2004 Keystone Games.

 

Personal: Born April 1, 1987...son of Kevin and Leann Karcher...has an older brother, Clinton...father, Kevin, pitched at LSU from 1979-81...uncle, Ken Karcher, was an NFL quarterback and played for the 1987 AFC Champion Denver Broncos...majoring in international business...chose FIU over interest from Oral Roberts.
